Magnetic cards are divided into HiCo (High Coercivity) magnetic cards and LoCo (Low Coercivity) magnetic cards. LoCo magnetic stripe cards are standard. They are written with a lower energy consumption, therefore the data on the stripe can be erased by strong magnetic fields. HiCo magnetic stripe cards, on the other hand, are more resistant and hardly erase the data due to external influences. The degree of magnetization determines the risk of data loss. The lower the magnetization, the higher the chance of data loss. Magnetic cards from All About Cards are available in 300 Oe (LoCo cards) and 2750 - 4000 Oe (HiCo cards). Oesterd (short: Oe) is the unit of measurement of the magnetic field strength. You want to buy magnetic stripe cards?
Numeric and alphanumeric data are coded on the magnetic stripe of the magnetic card, which you can read out with an appropriate reader and the corresponding software. There are three magnetic tracks, which together have a storage capacity of 1024 BIT, on which the data can be stored in encrypted form. Magnetic stripe cards or magnetic cards are provided with a stripe coated with a magnetic metal oxide. They are standardized according to the international standard ISO 7811, which provides three data tracks on the strip. The following amounts of data can be stored on the tracks:
track 1: 79 alpha numeric signs (closeness of codification: 210 bpi)
track 2: 40 numeric signs (closeness of codification: 75 bpi)
track 3: 107 numeric signs (closeness of codification: 210 bpi)
Generally track 2 is used. If no further information is available, the data is coded inside track 2.
Magnetic cards are used in many areas, often with a contactless oder a contact chip.
Typical areas of application:
You want to emphazise your magnetic card in a special way? Due to diverse possibilities of finishing magnetic cards, we offer you all opportunities to distinguish your magnetic stripe card from the rest. Wether spotlack, structure varnishin, a signature panel, hotstamp or hologram - creative and noble designs awaiting you! If you want to know which magentic stripe card will represent the optimal solution for you, contact us and get a free consultation without obligations.
Optically, the two card types differ in the color of the magnetic strip: LoCo magnetic strips are brownish, HiCo magnetic strips are black. Other colors are also possible for magnetic stripe cards. Would you like colored magnetic stripes to match your card design? We offer cards with magnetic stripes in silver, gold, red, blue and green.
Chip cards can also be used as storage media with many functions: inform yourself about the variety of our chip cards or call us if you have any questions! In addition to magnetic cards, All About Cards also offers many card printers with which you can encode magnetic stripe cards yourself thanks to the integrated magnetic card encoder. We also offer card readers for retrofitting many card printers.
